Predator Cobalt Stubby Drill Bits – Built for Tough Metal.
Predator Cobalt Stubby Drill Bits—also known as screw machine length drill bits are built for precision drilling in the hardest metals out there. Shorter length, more control, and serious bite.
Manufactured to NAS 907J aerospace specs, every bit is fully ground and gold-finished for strength, accuracy, and long life. The stubby profile adds rigidity, so you get less flex, less breakage, and more control, especially in tight spaces or under heavy feed pressure.
The 135° split point drills fast, stays on center, and eliminates the need for a pilot hole. Cleaner holes. Less walking. Less wasted time.
If you’re working in metal fab, aerospace, automotive, or heavy industry Predator Stubby Cobalt Bits are the upgrade your shop needs. They don’t back down when the heat’s on.

OAL = Overall Length of drill bit
Applications
- Metal fabrication and repair
- Aerospace and automotive work
- Drilling in tight spaces where a jobber bit won’t fit
- Drill presses, mills, lathes and screw machines
- Hand drills where a shorter bit cuts down on flex and breakage
Materials
- Stainless steel
- Hardened and alloy steel
- Cast iron
- Titanium
- Carbon steel and other tough metals
Usage Notes
- Use cutting fluid in steel, stainless and titanium.
- Keep steady feed pressure. Letting the bit rub work hardens stainless.
- Run slower speeds on larger sizes and harder material.
- Peck on deeper holes to clear chips.
